About FLEX
The Fostering Legal Excellence or FLEX Foundation is a Pre-Professional Accelerator (PPA) that drives the the mission of equipping high school and college students with the technical skills and professional access to excel in the legal field. Through applied legal training, professional development, mentorship, and direct engagement with legal professionals and institutions, FLEX prepares Fellows to navigate increasingly rigorous academic and professional environments.
High School Fellows
High School Fellows receive intensive technical training in legal analysis, trial advocacy, communication, and professional skills while gaining opportunities to apply those competencies through experiential learning.
Collegiate Fellows
Collegiate Fellows build upon their existing academic foundation through advanced technical refinement, professional development, and career-connected experiences designed to prepare them for entry into the legal profession.

Jasmine Berry
Executive Director, The FLEX Foundation
Jasmine Berry is an operations executive, legal pipeline strategist, and organizational architect with more than a decade of experience building scalable systems for talent development, growth, and institutional partnerships. As Founder and Executive Director, she drives FLEX’s program design, partnership expansion, and long-term approach to strengthening pathways into the legal profession.
Lyssa Morris
Chair, Community Engagement Committee
Lyssa Morris is a senior intellectual property attorney, strategist, and legal educator with experience spanning corporate counsel for GEICO, patent law, and law school instruction. Her background in law, technology, legal education, and senior corporate legal leadership strengthens FLEX’s ability to expose Fellows to specialized practice areas while developing their strategic and analytical thinking.
Karen Woodard-Westbrook
Chair, Fellow Enrichment Committee
Karen D. Woodard is a tenured civil rights attorney and former senior U.S. Department of Justice leader with more than 30 years of experience in litigation, federal legal strategy, and executive leadership. Her depth of legal and leadership experience helps FLEX strengthen Fellow competency development while connecting its programming to the standards and expectations of the profession.
